What Is Education System Hierarchy?

To be short and concise an education system hierarchy is the level of education that one goes through from Primary School till Higher Education. It is a system designed for people to become aware of and possess knowledge about different subjects that would help them being a better human being. Hardly would have anyone wondered that an education system as such which is adopted by the whole world could be flawed to a greater extent. Whats Wrong With Education System Hierarchy?

The only thing wrong about education system hierarchy is EVERYTHING. Many of you might not agree but let's analyze the knowledge flow at each level. When a person is in primary school they usually learn about 5-8 subjects. As they move on to secondary school it's more like 3-4 subjects. When a person reaches their bachelors they now have to decide to pick which subject are they going to study now. Let's take business administration as an example. As the education level rises to Masters the person now masters in business administration. And there comes PHD and the subject remains the same.

So if we observe the scenario as the person was in lower hierarchy of the education system they had a much diversified portfolio of subjects and for that matter even knowledge and as the hierarchy rises a person must leave other subjects and go with the ones they feel are necessary. The whole education system hierarchy is designed to make you a Specialist in a subject. Thinking whats wrong with that? I repeat EVERYTHING. Now I want you to analyze the level of knowledge required at each level. Being an intern you probably do documentation and aren't allowed to take strategic decisions because you don't know how things are done. Who knows how things are done better? the directors and the CEOs. Why? Because they have more knowledge than an intern and posses a variety of knowledge about every department in their company.

Education System Hierarchy V.S. Corporate System Hierarchy

So we can say that the pyramid in the picture represents the level of knowledge and now if I ask you to compare the corporate system hierarchy where you have to land eventually with education system hierarchy. The education system hierarchy is designed to make you a 'Specialist' whereas in corporate system hierarchy the person is expected to become a 'Generalist'. Being a student we happily get rid of subjects but little do we know at that time that later in life we have to face them once again at a tougher scale. So the point that stands is why does one drop out the subjects that they had to study in the lower levels of education system hierarchy? if they had been in touch with those subjects may be not academically but rather just kept up with what's going on there then a person would have quite a dynamic mind.

Therefore, it can be concluded that the education system hierarchy is greatly flawed. It should be more diversified to help a person have grip on multiple subjects and to be able to link those subjects together to explore ideas. It can also be derived from this conclusion that since an entrepreneur is a person who must have diversified portfolio of knowledge as they start up their own company, these entrepreneurs are rather generalist than specialists. We can finally conclude this into a bitter fact that the education system hierarchy is greatly flawed to the point that it is designed to make you a specialist and then a corporate slave. Once you become a corporate slave they troll you by letting you know that you should have been a generalist to grow faster.

How Can One Overcome The Flaws Of Education System Hierarchy?

It's quite simple and rather a matter of habit. One must make it a habit of learning something new out of their academic knowledge. For some it might sound greatly hectic but it isn't. Everyone these days possess a smartphone; little do you know the endless possibilities that you can achieve with it. Make it a habit of whenever you go to bed; right before you sleep just google something new and read some research about what's going on on the other side of your academic subjects. The trick is not just to read but to wake up the next morning and go up to anyone you know or a total stranger and strike a conversation about what you have researched the night before. Share your opinions with the person and listen what they have to say. And with this being done you have successfully locked a new set of information and knowledge into your brain that can be useful later in life.

Now if we do a quick math to analyze that if a person follows this pattern everyday or in worst case scenario 2/3 of the time every year then that means they have acquired knowledge on 243 issues or topics. Now 5 years from now the person would have knowledge over 1215 issues or topics. Not to forget as the knowledge grows the synergy would come in where you would be able to link the different issues up and be a better analyst in many aspects.
